We use Reddit for user authentication. When you log in through Reddit, we collect:

  • Reddit Username: Used as your identifier on our Site
  • Profile Avatar: Displayed on your profile and posts
  • Account Age: Used in the backend to prevent spam and abuse (accounts must meet a minimum age requirement)

We do NOT collect your Reddit email address, karma, or other personal information beyond what is listed above.

1.2 Information You Provide

When using the Site, you may voluntarily provide:

  • Location Data: Country, region, or city when posting hunts or deals. This information is optional and can be as specific or general as you choose (e.g., “Europe,” “Prague,” or even “Mars” if you prefer). Location data is used for filtering and sorting content.
  • User-Generated Content: Hunts, deals, comments, and profile information you post on the Site
  • User Ratings and Flags: Feedback you provide about other users or content

1.3 Automatically Generated Information

WordPress automatically generates a random email address for backend purposes when you create an account. This email is not visible to you or other users and is not used for communication.

  • Reddit: For authentication purposes only. We receive your username, avatar, and account age from Reddit’s OAuth service. We do not send your activity or data back to Reddit.

We do NOT share your data with analytics providers, advertisers, or any other third parties.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests (such as court orders or subpoenas), or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.

4. Data Retention

4.1 Active Accounts

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and you continue using the Site.

4.2 Account Deletion

If you request account deletion via gdpr@diecastcollectors.club:

  • Your Reddit username will be removed
  • Your profile avatar will be deleted
  • Your profile information will be deleted
  • Your posts and comments may remain on the Site as they contribute valuable information to the community (such as hunt locations and deals)
  • Any location data associated with your remaining posts will stay visible for community reference

4.3 Cookies

Cookies are stored for the durations specified in Section 1.4. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • SSL/HTTPS Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our Site is encrypted
  • Secure Hosting: Our Site is hosted on secure servers

Diecast Collectors Club does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we use Reddit for authentication, and Reddit requires users to be at least 13 years old, our Site is not intended for users under 13.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible.

8. International Data Transfers
